Sustainability and Savings: Cutting Costs with Electric Vehicles for Your Campus

Are you wrestling with sustainability mandates passed down from the state or your educational institution? The University of North Carolina – Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) has been rated one of the top 50 Green Fleets in North America for the past three years and won other awards at the state and national level. By using alternatively-fueled vehicles, the university has been able to adhere to the mandates and optimize productivity and utilization, while delivering cost savings and eliminating CO2 on campus—without losing capabilities or compromising the expectations of a modern campus transportation program. Add to that the fact that potential students often take this dedication to sustainability into consideration when choosing UNC for their ongoing educational needs.

Chris Facente, automotive and motor fleet supervisor for UNC Charlotte, and Aaron Stegemann, director of commercial strategic accounts for Polaris Industries, have over 30 years of experience in sustainable vehicle and fleet management practices. Please join them as they discuss transportation challenges, best practices and the newest ideas in sustainable fleet management:

  • Emission reductions and energy saving programs
  • Environmental protection and sustainability mandates
  • Overcoming fleet budget shortfalls and maintenance costs
  • Pedestrian safety on and off campus
